Track Inventory in Partial Units with Decimals

You can now track inventory in partial units—whether it's 0.5 gallons of paint, 1.75 meters of fabric, or 3.1289 kilograms of steel.
BoxHero now supports decimal quantities across the entire platform, making it easier to manage materials measured by volume, weight, or length.
What's Changed?
- Quantities now accept up to four decimal places
- Works across all inventory transactions

- Available on both web and mobile

How to Use It
1. Add a unit attribute
- Go to
Data Center
>Attributes
- Create a new field for units like kg, L, ft, etc.
- You can drag (≡) to reorder attributes if needed.

2. Update your items
- Go to
Item List
- Select an item and tap the new field to assign a unit.

Want to update several at once?
Head to Data Center
> Items
, select the ones you need, and use the Bulk Action Bar at the bottom of the screen to update units for multiple items.

💡
Pro Tip: You can Bulk Edit in Excel to speed things up.
3. Start using decimal quantities
- Once a unit is set, it’ll appear alongside your other attributes during inventory transactions.
- Enter any value. BoxHero will handle the decimals! 😉
